Welcome to the website for the Mendlesham Airfield Association.

The Association was formed with the aim of having a ‘Valor to Victory’ museum close to the old Mendlesham airfield in the county of Suffolk, England, where the American 34th bomber group were based during World War II. ‘Valor to Victory’ was the group’s motto.

RAF Mendlesham Airfield was laid down in 1942 and was home to a Czech fighter squadron before the 34th bomber group arrived and spent the rest of WWII based there.

As well as a Museum, the Association wants to record the history of life on and around the aerodrome. This will take time to collate and document.
